Al-Khidmat Foundation is a non-government, non-profit, and charitable organization in Pakistan.  About 18,700 volunteers from Al-Khidmat are working around the clock in different flood relief efforts.  In collaboration with Pakistan Islamic Medical Association, 110 medical camps in 65 places have served 48,100 patients.

Health and Nutrition Development Society (HANDS)

HANDS is a tax-exempt, certified NPO working in capacity building and direct interventions in the following areas:  health, education, poverty, alleviation, water, sanitation and infrastructure.  HANDS has established relief camps in Sindh Shikarpur, Jacobabad, Sukkur, Ghotki, Khairpur, Matiari, Hala, Thatta and Badin.   1,000 staff and 10,000 volunteers in the relief effort from HANDS.

Sahara For Life Trust is a non-profit, charitable organization dedicated to providing quality healthcare, education and social services in remote areas of Pakistan.  Sahara For Life is working in humanitarian efforts in Nowshera and surrounding area, district Muzzafargarh, Kot Addu, Dera Din Panah, district Sukkur,  and Mianwali, Bhakkar and Layyah.  Medical teams have provided relief to 11,500 victims, Rs. 1 million worth of medications, dry food worth Rs. 3 million, 1,500 tents and clothing for 3,000 people.  Mobil medical camps have been established in Laya, Dara, Din Panah, and other villages. 
SHINE Humanity

SHINE Humanity (Sustainable Healthcare Initiatives Now Empowering Humanity)  has six medical teams across the flood-affected deltas, up from Gilgit in the north, down to Khaipur in the south.  In partnership with regional host agencies, SHINE's medical teams are seeing over 800 patients a day vaccinating children and the elderly; treating water-borne diseases and infections; extreme malnutrition and dehydration; and counseling patients with anxiety and depression.

The American Red Cross is helping people affected by flooding in Pakistan through a $1,000,000 commitment to the response that provides financial support and relief supplies for the coordinated Red Cross and Red Crescent response. To meet the immediate humanitarian needs from the flooding, the global Red Cross and Red Crescent network, including the Pakistan Red Crescent Society, is providing food, relief items, shelter, water and sanitation services and emergency healthcare. As needs are identified, the American Red Cross is prepared to mobilize additional support, including additional supplies and financial assistance.

The International Rescue Committee is responding to the flooding that has left millions in need of emergency assistance in Pakistan by focusing efforts in the districts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Charsadda, Lower Dir, Noweshera, and Swat. The IRC is working to provide immediate relief through water, sanitation, and hygiene interventions which will focus on reducing and preventing the incidence of water and sanitation related diseases through the provision of safe drinking water, adequate sanitation coverage and hygiene promotion activities. In addition, IRC is providing shelter and distributing emergency non-food items (NFI) to those who have fled the rising waters.

Islamic Relief USA is sending a $23 million aid shipment filled with medical supplies in conjunction with their charitable partner, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Islamic Relief is trying to raise $4 million in order to continue the work of 500 Islamic Relief staff on the ground distributing aid, conducting needs assessments and helping in the general relief effort.   Islamic Relief staff is also distributing tents and blankets throughout the flood-devastated region. Working with the United Nations World Food Program, Islamic Relief is also distributing food to 2,000 families in Bakhtiarabad. Islamic Relief workers on the ground are continuing needs assessments, and international staff-members are working hard to help raise funds and awareness.

Oxfam and our partners have launched a rapid-relief effort to quickly reach 400,000 people in hard-hit areas of Punjab, Balochistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with essential aid. We are installing toilets and water-storage tanks and delivering clean water by truck to prevent deadly waterborne diseases from sweeping through communities of displaced people. Soon we and our partners will begin distribution of kits containing hygiene materials like soap, and we will start providing cooked meals for those in greatest need. Throughout the response, Oxfam will look for cash-for-work opportunities, in which we pay survivors to carry out essential service projects for their communities.

Save the Children has provided assistance to more than 85,000 children and adults in Swat, Dera Ismail Khan, Tank, Muzaffargarh, Sukkur, Jacobabad and Shikarpur.  The agency is providing emergency medical care and distributing tents, shelter kits, hygiene kits, food and supplies. Save the Children has mobile health teams working in flood zones and is supporting health clinics. The organization is distributing hygiene and “clean delivery” birth kits and conducting hygiene promotion to prevent the rise in waterborne diseases like acute watery diarrhea. Save the Children also has established a diarrhea center for flood-affected communities in Swat.

UNICEF and partners have set up nine medical camps and are providing medicine, water treatment tablets, nutritional supplements, hygiene kits, and jerry cans. The agency is also supporting the local authorities by providing clean drinking water.

WFP is now providing monthly food rations to flood‐affected communities in 24 districts, supported by nearly 30 NGO partners. Food stocks continue to be pre‐positioned at key operational hubs to service the highest need areas. This month, a limited food basket consisting of wheat, flour, oil and high energy biscuits is being distributed. Additional funding is urgently required to scale‐up the response as planned in September to reach up to 6 million beneficiaries with a complete 8‐commodity food basket. WFP is also providing logistics and emergency telecommunications support to the humanitarian community working in affected provinces, including coordinating the movement of relief cargo on government aircraft.

World Vision has begun distributing food and water to flood survivors, and and plans to provide medical assistance, shelter, hygiene kits and other basic relief items as soon as possible. World Vision has worked in Pakistan since 1992, and has more than 150 staff.
